The Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that is revolutionising health care worldwide.  It has been used successfully for more than 40 years to treat thousands of people suffering from a variety of illnesses.

The Bowen Technique consists of a series of very precise moves at specific points on the fascia of the muscles and the tendons, thereby stimulating energy flow. The moves encourage a response and empower the body's own resources to heal itself. The gentle moves result in a general feeling of well-being and pleasant relaxation as the body's natural healing responses are triggered into balancing reactions. Each move requires time for the brain to assimilate it, allowing the body time to restore lines of communication, in order that it can begin to rest, balance and heal itself. It may be used on anyone from the newborn to the aged and can give lasting relief from pain and discomfort throughout the body.  Each person is an individual and their reactions will be different.  A session may last from half an hour to an hour, resulting in a deep sense of relaxation.

The Bowen Technique produces an integrated body response and consequently improves circulation, lymphatic and venous drainage, the assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins, joint mobility, posture, clearance of dysfunctional debris and normalisation of cellular physiology and tissue integrity. There is not a condition that cannot be addressed (with medical supervision where appropriate) as the treatment is holistic. Many report increased clarity of thought, restored balance and a sense of wellbeing and relaxation.
